The African Democratic Congress has released updated lists of its convention planning committees and subcommittees ahead of its upcoming national convention.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the update is aimed at improving coordination and ensuring a smooth and credible convention process.

According to the party, the release of the new lists forms part of its broader preparations for the national convention.

It also called on all committee members to carry out their duties responsibly, while urging stakeholders to support the exercise.

The updated document, signed by the National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, confirmed the approval of members for the convention planning structure scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

One of the key bodies announced is the Convention Central Coordination Committee, chaired by Senator Liyel Imoke and deputised by Senator Aminu Tambuwal.

The development comes amid internal leadership disputes within the party and an ongoing disagreement with the Independent National Electoral Commission over recognition of its leadership.

INEC had earlier withheld recognition of the Senator David Mark-led leadership faction, citing ongoing court proceedings that coincide with the scheduled convention date.

Despite the tensions, the ADC insists it remains committed to holding its congresses and national convention as part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
