The traditional ruler was seen attending classes alongside other students on Tuesday, wearing a black flowing robe paired with a white turban.

His return to the classroom follows the university’s recent decision to grant him special admission into its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme, covering both Common Law and Sharia Law.

University officials explained that the admission was approved in view of Sanusi’s extensive background in public service, economics, governance and intellectual contributions.

Founded in 2012, Northwest University is one of the two state-owned universities in Kano.

Despite holding a PhD and having served as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Emir continues to advocate for education, reform and lifelong learning, reinforcing his reputation as a leading voice in national discourse.
