The Federal High Court of Nigeria has confirmed the death of , a judge of the Kano Judicial Division.
In a statement released by the court’s Director of Information, Dr Catherine Oby Christopher, the respected jurist reportedly passed away on May 21, 2026, following a brief illness.
Justice Yunusa died at the State Medical Centre in Kano and was buried according to Islamic rites.
The court described the late judge as a committed and highly respected judicial officer who served the Nigerian judiciary with integrity, dedication and professionalism throughout his years on the bench.
The statement noted that his contributions to the legal profession and the administration of justice would continue to be remembered by colleagues, lawyers, court staff and members of the judiciary.
The Chief Judge, management and staff of the Federal High Court also extended condolences to his family and prayed for Allah’s mercy and eternal rest upon his soul.
