Guinness World Records Confirms Hilda Baci as Three-Time Record Holder
Nigerian culinary star Hilda Baci has officially been recognised as a three-time Guinness World Records holder, after her record-breaking attempt last year also earned an additional title.
Guinness World Records confirmed that during her September 2025 cookout in Victoria Island, Lagos, where she prepared an 8,780-kilogram serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, the feat not only set the record for the largest serving of the beloved dish but also met the criteria for the world’s largest serving of rice overall.
The confirmation was communicated to Baci in an email from Andrew Fanning, Head of Client Partnering in Guinness’s Records Creative Team, who congratulated her on achieving both titles through the same attempt.
In response to the news, Baci shared that she was “shocked and happy” to discover that what she thought was a single record had resulted in two separate titles, bringing her total to three Guinness World Records.
Her rise in the record books began in May 2023, when she set a Guinness mark for the longest individual cooking marathon, and was followed by her jollof rice world record later in 2025.
Baci’s achievement has been widely celebrated across Nigeria and beyond, further cementing her reputation as one of the country’s most accomplished chefs.
