IGP Appoints New Lagos CP, Redeploys Jimoh to Zone 2

The Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has approved a fresh round of postings, naming Olatunji Fatai as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid. Fatai takes over from Moshood Jimoh, who has been elevated and reassigned to oversee Zone 2 Command in Lagos.

According to the police authorities, the changes are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the command structure and ensure effective deployment of personnel across various units, formations, and state commands.

The Inspector-General explained that the redeployments are aimed at boosting operational efficiency, reinforcing leadership capacity, and enhancing overall service delivery nationwide.

Other Key Postings
Several other Commissioners of Police were also assigned to new roles across the country:

CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed – Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command

CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya – Jigawa State

CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola – Oyo State

CP Olubode Ojajuni – Ogun State
CP Michael Adegoroye Falade – Ekiti State

CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro – Adamawa State
CP Morkwap S. Dongshal – Taraba State

CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello – Zamfara State

CP Umar Ali Fagge – Katsina State
CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan – Sokoto State

In addition to these postings, other senior officers were deployed to key units such as INTERPOL, the Special Protection Unit, FCID Annex offices, and various police training institutions nationwide.

The IGP urged all affected officers to apply their experience and expertise in their new roles, while maintaining professionalism, discipline, and a strong commitment to duty.
