An Iranian delegation is set to arrive in Islamabad on Thursday night ahead of diplomatic discussions with the United States, facilitated by Shehbaz Sharif.

The talks come as Pakistan prepares to host high-level negotiations aimed at addressing tensions in the Middle East. The White House has indicated that U.S. Vice President JD Vance is expected to lead the American delegation during the meeting scheduled for the weekend.

Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, confirmed the visit, noting that despite concerns over repeated ceasefire violations by Israel, Iran remains committed to engaging in what he described as “serious talks.” He added that the delegation would present a 10-point proposal as part of the discussions.

In anticipation of the high-profile meeting, authorities in Islamabad have declared local public holidays for several days, a move often linked to heightened security measures during major diplomatic events.

Officials clarified that essential services—including hospitals, law enforcement, and utility providers—will continue to operate throughout the period. Residents have also been advised to plan their activities accordingly.

The upcoming talks are being closely watched as efforts continue to ease tensions and explore possible diplomatic solutions in the region.
