Olajide Adediran, widely known as Jandor, has officially taken a major step toward contesting the Lagos State governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC) by obtaining the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate said his decision is in line with the APC’s stance favoring direct primaries for selecting candidates.

He noted that while some party leaders have openly backed other aspirants, he remains committed to following the party’s officially communicated process. However, he added that he would respect and align with any alternative method adopted by the party, as permitted by the Electoral Act.

Jandor emphasized that leadership is built on trust, consistency, and genuine service—not mere words. He stressed the importance of sustained engagement with the people and a strong commitment to the common good.

Having contested the 2023 Lagos governorship election under the PDP before defecting to the APC, Jandor said his renewed ambition is driven by a desire to strengthen democracy and contribute meaningfully to societal progress.

His entry into the race comes as political activities intensify within the Lagos APC ahead of the 2027 elections. Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has reportedly secured backing from key figures, including President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Jandor concluded by urging collective action, stating that the time has come to move beyond symbolic gestures and focus on deliberate efforts to achieve a better future for all.
