Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has voiced strong support for the United States’ decision to impose a naval blockade on Iran, stating that Israel is fully aligned with Washington on the move.

Speaking during a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said the action followed what he described as Iran’s failure to meet agreed conditions during recent negotiations. He noted that Israel is maintaining close coordination with the United States as the situation unfolds.

The blockade, announced by US President Donald Trump, comes after talks with Iranian officials in Islamabad ended without a resolution. According to US officials, the operation targets vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports, particularly around the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Reports indicate that the decision was made after Iran allegedly failed to comply with terms discussed during the negotiations, including commitments tied to easing tensions and maritime access.

Netanyahu revealed that US Vice President JD Vance had briefed him following the talks, highlighting concerns from Washington over Iran’s actions. A key issue for the US, he said, is ensuring that Iran halts uranium enrichment activities and eliminates its stockpile of enriched material.

The development signals a significant escalation in tensions, with global attention now focused on the potential economic and security implications of the blockade in one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes.
