Nigeria’s Power Supply Sees Fresh Boost — Generation Rises Above 4,300MW in Two Weeks!
Electricity generation across the country has recorded a noticeable improvement over the past two weeks, between March 28 and April 10, 2026, according to the Ministry of Power.
The Ministry said the increase reflects ongoing efforts by the Federal Government of Nigeria to stabilize and improve electricity supply nationwide, in line with earlier commitments made to Nigerians.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, had recently assured that noticeable improvements in power supply would be achieved within a two-week window following a Power Sector Working Group meeting.
Data released for the period shows that average electricity generation rose steadily from about 3,951 megawatts on March 28 to over 4,300 megawatts by April 10, marking a consistent upward trend.
Officials also attributed the progress to improved gas supply to thermal power plants, which increased from roughly 605 million standard cubic feet to over 704 million within the same period.
Authorities say the development signals gradual progress in the power sector as efforts continue to boost national grid performance.
