President Bola Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to defeating insecurity, declaring that banditry and terrorism will be overcome.
He made the statement on Saturday while speaking at the commissioning of the Gateway International Airport in Iperu, Ogun State, alongside several other development projects.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that his government would continue investing in both security and human development to ensure lasting peace across the country.
He pointed to the presence of security vehicles at the event as evidence of ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property, adding that such investments strengthen the nation’s security framework.
The President also commended Nigerian youths for their dedication and potential, expressing confidence that the country is on a path toward renewed progress and greatness.
The event, hosted by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, was originally scheduled earlier in the week but was postponed due to Tinubu’s visit to Plateau State following a deadly attack in Jos.
During the ceremony, Tinubu described the newly commissioned airport as a major milestone, highlighting its independent power supply as a key feature driven by investments in energy and gas infrastructure.
He further praised other initiatives unveiled at the event, including improvements in transportation, security, and agriculture.
According to him, the introduction of 1,000 electric bikes reflects a modern and sustainable approach to mobility, embracing clean energy solutions to enhance everyday life.
