President Bola Tinubu has restated his government’s resolve to put an end to insecurity across Nigeria, emphasizing that no citizen should be forced to live in fear.
Tinubu, who called off his planned attendance at the G20 Summit in South Africa to directly oversee national security operations following recent kidnapping incidents, noted that safety remains a basic right of all Nigerians.
In a message shared on his official X account on Sunday, the President emphasized that his administration will continue to tackle all forms of criminality wherever it occurs.
He stated, “Let me be absolutely clear: I will not back down. Every Nigerian, in every state, deserves to feel safe — and as long as I am President, we will secure this country and protect our people.”
His comments follow growing public pressure on the government to take more decisive and urgent steps in addressing the surge in kidnappings and violent attacks nationwide.
