Former Defence Minister Theophilus Danjuma made headlines on Tuesday after donating ₦3 billion during the unveiling of former Nigerian Head of State Yakubu Gowon’s autobiography in Abuja.

The high-profile event also saw billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote contribute ₦500 million in support of the launch of the memoir titled My Life of Duty and Allegiance.

Another major highlight came from businessman Abdul Samad Rabiu, who purchased copies of the autobiography worth ₦25 million during the ceremony.

The event attracted top government officials, diplomats, and senior military officers, with Vice President Kashim Shettima representing President Bola Tinubu.

The 20-chapter autobiography reflects on Gowon’s personal journey, military leadership, and years of service to Nigeria. Catholic Bishop Matthew Kukah reviewed the memoir at the unveiling ceremony.

Represented by retired General Martin Luther Agwai, Danjuma also directed that copies of the book be donated to libraries in the 20 universities that awarded Gowon honorary doctorate degrees.
