Abdul-Azeez Adediran, widely known as Jandor, has officially stepped down from the Lagos State governorship contest under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His withdrawal comes barely a day after Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat was presented to President Bola Tinubu by the Governor’s Advisory Council as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 elections.

Jandor, who flew the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag in the 2023 governorship election, defected to the APC last year and had only recently declared his intention to contest for the party’s ticket.

More details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
