Mikel Arteta has been named the Premier League’s Barclays Manager of the Season following a remarkable campaign that saw Arsenal F.C. secure their first league title in 22 years.
The Spanish manager guided Arsenal to the 2025/26 Premier League championship, finishing ahead of Manchester City F.C. and sealing the title before the final round of fixtures.
The achievement marks Arteta’s first time winning the prestigious managerial award and makes him the first Arsenal coach since Arsène Wenger to receive the honour.
Arsenal’s success this season was largely built on defensive discipline and consistency. The North London club recorded 19 clean sheets and conceded only 27 goals throughout the campaign — the best defensive record in the league. They also finished among the division’s top-scoring sides with 71 goals.
At just 44 years old, Arteta has now become one of the youngest managers ever to win the Premier League title. He also made history as the first coach to lift the trophy with a club he previously represented as a player.
The Manager of the Season award was determined through a combination of fan votes and selections made by a panel of football experts. Arteta finished ahead of fellow nominees including Keith Andrews, Michael Carrick, Pep Guardiola, Andoni Iraola, and Regis Le Bris.
Attention will now shift to Europe, with Arsenal preparing for the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in Budapest, where the Gunners will attempt to complete a memorable domestic and European double.
