The Lagos State Government has firmly denied reports suggesting that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is under pressure to step down due to health concerns, describing the claims as completely false.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Gboyega Akosile, the government dismissed the report—originally circulated by an online platform—as fabricated and misleading.

Akosile stated that the governor is in good health, mentally sound, and fully committed to his responsibilities, adding that there is no truth to the resignation speculation.

He also expressed concern over what he described as a recurring pattern of misinformation from the same source.

The clarification comes after rumours alleged that Sanwo-Olu was being pressured to resign, with Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat expected to take over.

However, the government noted that the deputy governor had only paid a routine visit to inform the governor of his intention to run for office, stressing that the meeting was cordial and in line with normal political processes.

Officials reiterated that the resignation claims are baseless and should be disregarded.
