Business mogul and Chairman of Pacific Holdings, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke (father to Afrobeats star Davido and brother to the Governor), has made a massive N500 million donation to the newly unveiled Osun State Security Trust Fund.
Governor Ademola Adeleke officially operationalized the fund today, Thursday, April 23. While the law for the trust fund was passed 14 years ago, it remained
dormant until this administration decided to activate it to tackle emerging security threats with modern technology and better logistics.
Dr. Adeleke, represented at the event, stated that the donation is part of his “commitment to the safety of the people of Osun.” The funds are earmarked for:
- Technology & Surveillance: Purchasing drones and modern communication gadgets for security agencies.
- Logistics: Procuring operational vehicles for the Police and the Amotekun Corps.
- Training: Supporting specialized intelligence training for local security operatives
The launch hasn’t been without controversy. The opposition APC, led by governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji, has alleged that the fund is a “campaign chest” for the Governor’s 2026 re-election.
However, the government has dismissed these claims, insisting that the fund is guided by a board of private-sector professionals to ensure transparency.
