Tinubu Removes Edun, Dangiwa in Cabinet Reshuffle, Appoints New Ministers

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a limited reshuffle of the Federal Executive Council, relieving Wale Edun and Ahmed Dangiwa of their duties as ministers.

The announcement was contained in an official memo issued by George Akume and communicated through his media office.

As part of the changes, Taiwo Oyedele has been appointed as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. In addition, Muttaqha Darma has been named Minister-designate for Housing and Urban Development.

The directive instructs the outgoing ministers to hand over responsibilities to their successors or designated officials, with all transition processes expected to be completed by April 23, 2026.

According to Akume, the reshuffle is intended to improve coordination, enhance synergy within the cabinet, and accelerate delivery of key government priorities under the administration’s policy agenda.

He noted that the President acted within his constitutional authority, while also appreciating the contributions of the outgoing ministers and wishing them success in their future pursuits.

The statement added that the process of strengthening the cabinet remains ongoing as part of efforts to improve governance and service delivery.
