Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed strong confidence that Northern Nigeria will overwhelmingly support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists on the National Media Tour—an initiative under the Renewed Hope Agenda—Sani highlighted what he described as significant achievements by the Tinubu administration, particularly in the northern region.
The session, led by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, focused on showcasing ongoing federal and state development projects.
Governor Sani maintained that President Tinubu’s policies and interventions have positively impacted the lives of many in the North, arguing that these efforts would translate into electoral support.
He pointed to major infrastructure approvals, including a proposed light rail project in Kaduna valued at about ₦1 trillion, as well as the long-delayed 122-kilometre Mandu–Birnin Gwari road project, now revived at an estimated cost of ₦178 billion.
According to him, beyond infrastructure, security has improved significantly in areas that were previously unsafe. He recalled that travelling to Birnin Gwari once required heavy military escort, but noted that the situation has now changed, with safer access for residents and visitors.
Sani credited President Tinubu for fulfilling promises to address insecurity before embarking on large-scale infrastructure development, adding that the people of Kaduna State remain grateful.
He went further to claim that the APC currently faces little to no opposition in the state, describing Kaduna as effectively a one-party stronghold.
Also speaking at the event, Bayo Onanuga praised the governor’s performance, noting visible progress in infrastructure and development across Kaduna, including previously neglected communities.
He attributed the improved financial capacity of states to key economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and changes to the foreign exchange system, which he said have increased revenue allocations to sub-national governments.
Onanuga commended Governor Sani for effectively utilising these resources, expressing confidence in his leadership and future prospects.
