Adamu Atiku, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Adamawa South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In a statement released on Friday, Adamu said his decision followed months of consultations with political stakeholders, community leaders, supporters and residents across the district.
According to him, the encouragement and confidence shown by people in Adamawa South convinced him to step into the race and offer himself for public service.

The former Adamawa State Commissioner for Works and Energy Development revealed that he had already obtained his nomination form, describing it as the formal beginning of his senatorial ambition.
Adamu stated that the movement is driven by a collective desire for better representation, unity and development across the district.
He added that his focus would be on delivering purposeful leadership and building stronger connections with the people of Adamawa South.
